I would like to ask the fellow member's the, " Whats your take on it?", question. The difference in Lipo and Nicad or Nickel metal hydrate batteries for AEG uses. I have heard 7.4 lipos are generally on the same page as 9.6 Nicad/NIMH. If this is true would it be better for me to go lipo or stay with the 9.6 nicad/nimh variants. The reason I ask is because i want a buffer tube battery. Just so you know why, I'm skittish about lipo. Its the AEG life span might be shorten due to higher torquing of the motor , wiring and additional wear and tear. Long story short, would it be a good investment.

short answer: yes, good investment
theres nothing to be afraid of. the main wear and tear is the high ROF lipos people use, and thats when you see people who have down guns all the time.
I suppose the motor torque might be something to worry about, but its probably not a big issue.. but i really dont know..
if you get a 7.4v 10c-20c lipo you should be good to go

Nice to know I'll definitely look into changing in the near future.

I rock an 11.1v lipo every now and then... Other times I just stay with my 9.6v crane stock batteries. I had the lipo for when I wasnt using a crane stock and needed to use it in the buffer tube. Works wonders...

I rock a 7.4 lipo 1000 mah and I love it. Why? I get the same power as a 9.6 in a much smaller package. G&P "makes" (I believe they are re-branded tenergy) lipos for pretty cheap. I bought 2 of the aforementioned batteries for $40
