Looking to purchase a new AEG. Just wanted some insight. I was looking into getting a G&P Defender or VFC SCAR. I love the AR but I want a more high end one. I think G&P or VFC are nice. Even though I have a G&G and 2 CAs. Its time for a all for 1 1 for all gun. I really dig G&P because they are maxed out, but I'm looking for optimal performance. So that's where VFC/ King Arms come into play. Looking now so just give me an idea. Also Block II M4's look like the Defender so is it ok for the roll. Or would a higher end AEG. Then purchase parts to build it be better. Or is a G&P out of the box a good buy.

G&Ps from what Ive heard and seen are damn nice out of the box... They dont seem to need much done to them. The Defender is essentially a MK18 Mod1. Its a CQB length barrel (10.5in?) and has the 9.5in MK18 RIS. After some paint to cover up the retarded trades it would make a great base for a SEAL weapon. If you wanted a longer gun and not the CQB length gun you should take a look at their Block II M4. VFC SCAR is another decent choice... I say decent because its the same price as the G&P (whichever one you end up deciding to get) but wont be as accurate for a kit. Im assuming you would get the SCAR-L, in which case it doesnt really work for any kit... If you were to get the SCAR-H you could use it for a SEAL kit but then would have to get new mags and probably redo you entire vest set up... If you arent really stickler about following an impression then sure you could drop the cash on a VFC SCAR. Ive had a VFC SCAR, it was a used early gen model... I can tell you from first hand experience that I WOULD NOT drop $400+ on one... The hopup was trash, motor was pretty shitty, and Ive heard some flat out bad things about the entire GB... Now if you really want a SCAR then go for it, it doesnt cost too much to rework the barrel and hopup (plus people typically do that anyways). But Im not sure why you would want a SCAR, they are fucking bulky XD. Im sort of in the same boat as you... I just sold my CA MK18 and am looking to grab a new gun. At this point my main to options are going to be the G&P Block II M4 and the VFC 416 (odd right? XD)... Regardless of which way you go I think you will be happy. If it were up to me I would grab a G&P and never look back. One thing to note though is that G&Ps come wired to Deans so you will need either an adapter or a G&P battery to use if you havent made the switch yet. I know I sound like Im really biased towards G&P but Im really not... Either way you go with this choice you should be fine. I believe the newer gen SCARs have had a makeover and should be better than what I got. I would say that you could ask Aeros about his VFC but his was never stock. I believe Dozer just ordered a VFC/Avalon so you can give him a shout about his. Regardless of what you do these are two of the highest quality guns out there... shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/g-p-hong-kong/gandp-m4-carbine-v5-daniel-defense.html (Block II)

Thats what I thought. The VFC sounded legit but not now. I called and asked about a G&P, and it sounds like that's what I'm going to get. Their performance have improved recently from what the distributor said. I have not made the switch to deans. So looks like I am going to need a adapter. The BLOCK 2 is nice but I like CQBR length 10.5". I also saw the Sentry so I might not get a AEG that fits any profile but my own. After all the sport is what you make of it. An if your happy with you kit and AEG. Usually other people are happy too. Considering the G&P AEGs are relatively easily to acquire. I might get either one, but more than likely get the Sentry because of the bells and whistles. I love Magpul and VLTOR is freaking awesome. Let me know the inevitable. If I make a smart move, "BLOCK 2", or not will a G&P still be worth it.

Yeap go for it! You are spot on, the game is what you make it. Regardless of which G&P you get the internals are all identical... Just go for the one that makes you drool the most when you look at it haha.

Must have been some serious issues with the first gen VFC SCAR's.. I can tell you that it is not the case with any other VFC i've messed with.. I absolutely love both my VFC M4 and AK-74. and if i can help it.. VFC's will be the only guns I ever purchase lol
You wont go wrong with either a VFC SCAR or a G&P m4 really.. both are really nice, so its up to you. as mentioned, G&P did come out with a block II m4 recently, so you can get that and be ready to go out of the box as far as the block II look goes
team preference would be the block I or II m4/mk18 look (or any other SOCOM weapon like scars, mk14 etc), but there really isnt a restriction on that.. at least not yet ;D.. but it would be nice for everyone to get weapons along those lines for uniformity's sake

Since we are on this topic I figured I would throw this out.... On ASB there is an FDE VFC SCAR-H going for $250 w/ 3 mags. Looks to be in excellent condition, not a bad price for what would be a super sexy gun.
And Aeros the VFC V2 GBs are known to have been pretty shoddy in the past. The original 416s had awful internals too... I believe they have since redone them however. Like was stated you cant really go wrong with either, the externals will rival each other very closesly as they are both the best out there... Internals will be a bit of a wash as well, I personally am not a huge fan of certain aspects of the VFCs but hey thats nothing a little overhaul cant fix (ask Aeros) XD
